Blood Plums

Blood (or Satsuma) Plums are one of my most favourite autumn fruits.  They are only around for a short time but are fantastic to eat by themselves but also make great stewed or roasted desserts and excellent sauces.  Here is me chilli plum sauce recipe that I make every year.  It is excellents with almost all types of meat but especially pork!

Chilli Plum Sauce

500g blood plums, halved & seeds removed

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup water

½ cup malt vinegar

3 birds eye chillies

2 cm piece ginger

3 cloves garlic

 

Bring to boil together and simmer for 45 mins.

Puree and season.
